We focus on providing our customers with comprehensive gas supplies in line with their demands.
We provide our customers not only with natural gas but also with a comprehensive range of services. Among other things, these include marketing services to promote gas sales as well as technical advice for customers and market partners, the aim being to contribute to the energy-saving and environmentally benign use of gas in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
Despite the more difficult environment, we managed to defend our position on the market in 2006, selling 710 billion kWh of gas. The increase in sendout of 20 billion kWh compared with the previous year is due to our fast growing European foreign business. At 160 billion kWh, 19 percent more gas was sold outside Germany than in the previous year. The share of gas sendout abroad thus amounts to over a fifth of total gas sales. In addition to a sharp increase in gas sendout in the UK, the growth is attributable, among other things, to contracts in Denmark, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
